What is Kinesiology?
Holistic Kinesiology is an integrative form of complementary medicine that assists the body, mind and spirit to reconnect to its innate ability to restore balance to optimise health and wellbeing. Kinesiology has evolved to encompass many aspects of both Western and Traditional medicine; using biofeedback muscle testing to bypass conscious thought processes to identify physical and emotional stress patterns in the body. Once imbalances have been detected in the body, a wide range of holistic techniques are used to assist the body to heal itself.
What are the benefits of Kinesiology?
Kinesiology uses safe and gentle integrative techniques to access information and to stimulate the body’s own healing potential. Each session is individually client focused to address and resolve specific underlying causal stress patterns; to promote long lasting health and wellbeing on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
Disease and imbalance often occurs when there is a disconnection from the core self. Kinesiology can be used as a powerful tool to connect an individual back to their true essence so that they can be empowered to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life with purpose. Kinesiology offers the opportunity to connect to guidance and wisdom from within; and encourages unconditional love and acceptance of self and others.
Who should visit a Kinesiologist?
Kinesiology can facilitate the healing process in anyone regardless of age, gender or background. It is highly effective and a safe form of therapy recommended for children and babies as well as adolescents and adults. Kinesiology would benefit any person presenting with a current or previous health complaint, whether it be of physical or emotional descent. Kinesiology is also suggested for anyone who is searching to improve the relationship they have with themselves and others and for those seeking to live an authentic life with meaning. Kinesiology sessions are highly relaxing and can therefore be recommended to anyone looking for nurturing and nourishing self care.
How many sessions do you need?
Kinesiology works in a unique way with each individual person. There is no set parameter to determine how and when your body will integrate the treatment. Some people may feel like the issue at hand is address and cleared within one session and other people may feel like they need additional follow up treatments. As a general guide Kellie usually recommends anywhere between 1-3 sessions to address each specific issue. Additional treatments may be required, however this is determined and discussed during the program based upon each case. For general health and wellbeing, a “monthly maintenance” appointment is encouraged.
What to expect in a session with Kellie–
A Kinesiology session will typically run for 90- 120 minutes and may involve client centred counselling, a series of biofeedback muscle monitoring tests; followed by the use of a range of holistic healing techniques such as: Traditional Chinese Medicine based acupressure, nutritional advice and energetic healing provided through chakra balancing, visualisation, flower essences, sound and crystal therapy. If it is relevant a treatment plan will be devised with dietary, supplement and lifestyle recommendations.
The philosophy behind Kinesiology is that the body and mind are treated as one integrated unit. Therefore often a physical symptom will have an associated emotional context related and discussed. Conversely the body may be physically stimulated to clear presenting emotional stress patterns. As a client expect to deepen the understanding of yourself. It is likely that Kinesiology will open your awareness as to what motivates your behaviour and it can therefore be used as a helpful tool to enhance your wellbeing.
